Association of Geographical Societies in Europe (EUGEO): EUGEO is the Association of Geographical Societies in Europe. The aim of EUGEO is to represent its members at the European level and to coordinate and initiate joint activities of the members to advance research and education on the Geography of Europe and to promote the scientific discipline, the school subject and the professional practice of Geography in Europe. EUGEO has members from 27 countries. EUGEO also functions as a network and a forum for strengthening the position and operations of its member organisations, in particular for activities with a European dimension (more).

European Association of Geographers (EUROGEO): EUROGEO is concerned with the effective use of open geographic information and to use this to contribute to areas such as demography and migration, sustainability, economic development and urban and rural challenges, hazards, landscape, poverty, democracy and citizen engagement.It promotes the importance of geographical education and spatial thinking as a contribution towards the development of a better understanding of our world and therefore global citizenship. By doing so, EUROGEO encourages the development of a greater global awareness through the medium of geography and an increase in mutual knowledge and understanding (more).

International Geographical Union (IGU): The International Geographical Union (IGU) is an international, non-governmental, professional organization devoted to the development of the discipline of Geography. The purposes of the IGU are primarily to promote Geography through initiating and coordinating geographical research and teaching in all countries of the world. Its work is conducted through the instruments of its National Committees, Commissions and Task Forces. The IGU hosts the International Geographical Congress every four years and also promotes regional conferences and other meetings that further of the objectives of the Union. The IGU also facilitates the participation of geographers in the global community of scientists through its formal affiliation as a Member Union within the International Science Council (ISC) and the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (CIPSH) (more).
